About us

About Emmanuel Temple Church, Inc.

Bishop Luther H Moore III in Philadelphia, Pa founded Emmanuel Temple Church in a community town watch building of West Philadelphia in January of 1986. This was the first of two beginnings for Emmanuel Temple. After about a year in the town watch building Emmanuel Temple would move its small group into the Home of Bishop and Pastor Robin Moore while they looked for another home base after having to leave the Town Watch building having used the allotted period of time there. Emmanuel Temple would become established again in West Philadelphia after moving one other time. The Church would begin to grow under the leadership of Bishop & Pastor Moore as many souls began to accept the word of God and give their lives to the Lord. Emmanuel Temple was born out of a burning passion to see souls delivered and saved and to see new born believers not exposed to destructive religion and traditions. We took to the streets and sought the souls of men through personal evangelism, satellite Bible Classes, street services and other aggressive forms of outreach. At its beginning Emmanuel Temple was a part of the Pentecostal Churches of the Apostolic Faith, Inc., and would maintain with this covering for the next 15 years. After seeking the Lord about a word that he received from the Lord, Bishop Moore began to make preparations to move the ministry and his family to North Carolina. After much prayer and consecration in the presence of the Lord and receiving a confirmation for the move Bishop Moore made preparations for the souls in the Philadelphia Ministry. After all things were worked out Pastor Moore made the move with God having made personal provisions before the move was made.

After being in North Carolina for two years and assisting another Pastor during that time, and the faith of Bishop and Pastor Moore being put to the test, The Lord spoke to Bishop Moore to put in motion the second beginning of Emmanuel Temple Church. Bible Classes were established in several places and a number of young souls were saved. Soon the Lord would bless the Bishop and a group of Young people with a Building for worship. The building was fully furnished with a seating capacity of 250, which was more than enough for the re-establishment of the Ministry. The Lord began to send help in regularly and many souls were won to the Lord through the Ministry. After 4 years the Lord would bless the ministry to implement a ¼ of a Million dollar construction project where the Church was enlarged and renovated. Emmanuel Temple is a prime example of the fact that it does not take a large crowd to expand. During the time that we have been here in North Carolina we have seen them come and seen them go, but by the grace and power if God we remain. At Emmanuel Temple North Carolina we are involved with feeding the hungry, marriage and family ministry, community Service work program, Youth Mentoring, and more. We operate these programs on a small scale we are looking for God to do greater things as he continues to send help to the temple.

What we believe

We believe that the Bible is the inerrant word if God, and that the word of God, the Scriptures, reveal to us the plan of Salvation through the Lord Jesus Christ. We believe that Christ died on the Cross-for the Salvation of the lost and became an eternal atonement for the sins of all those that will receive him. We believe that the wages of sin is death (Rom 6:23), and that sins wage was paid for us through the sacrificial death of Jesus Christ. We believe according to the scriptures that we are crucified with Christ (Gal 2:20) through our acceptance of the Gospel and that because Christ is in us the body is dead because of sin and the spirit life because of righteousness (Rom 8:10). We believe that the redemptive work of Christ is applied to our lives when one believes the preaching of the gospel, accept and confess the Lord Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior of our lives (Rom 10:9-10), taking on water Baptism in the Name of the Lord Jesus Christ (Acts 2:38; Acts 8:14-15;Acts 19:2-4), receiving of the Baptism of the Holy Spirit (Acts 2:4) and continuing steadfastly in the Apostles doctrine (Acts 2: 41-42). We believe that there is one God that operates in a threefold office; Father in creation, Son in redemption and Holy Ghost in the Church. We believe that God was in Christ reconciling the world unto himself (2 Cor 5:19) and that Christ is the fullness of the Godhead bodily (Col 2:9), thus being the image of the invisible God. We believe that God revealed himself to man in a Monotheistic manner, so therefore we believe that the Lord our God is one Lord (Duet 6:4). We believe that Holy Communion should be honored by the Church in Commemoration of the sacrificial death of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. We believe that the people of God should walk according to the scriptures and allow the Holy Ghost to rule in our hearts. We believe that the child of God should walk in the light of the scriptures as to bring glory and honor to God. We believe that the Lord shall cause the Church on earth to be caught up in a moment and in the twinkling of an eye (I Thess 4:16-17;1 Cor 15:51-52), and that this event is soon to come to pass.
